BRIEF HISTORY OF THE GROUP

Pragati Paper Industries Private Limited was incorporated in the year 1990 and now mainly engaged in the business of manufacturing of Newsprint paper. The Group has more than 28 years of presence in this line of activity. The paper manufacturing initially started with “Duplex & Coated Duplex Board” manufacturing facilities under “Pragati Paper Mills Private Limited” at Sahibabad. Subsequently, accessing the market needs and trend, the group has ventured in “Newsprint Segment” by setting up “Newsprint” manufacturing facilities in the name of “Pragati Paper Industries Private Limited” in the year 1990. Later, during 2003-2004 the Company has set up a new plant at Handesra, Punjab State with an annual capacity of 75000 M.T.

INFRASTRUCTURE

We have developed state of the art infrastructure at Punjab (Handesra), paper manufacturing facility which has all the required equipments to control and monitoring the process and quality. The unit is installed with Main Paper Machine with Disperser, Hydraulic Head box, Approach flow i.e. Pressure Screen, Deculator, Centri-Cleaner System, QCS with Profiler, High Speed Re-Winder, 66 KV independent substations with line and extension of load 3201 KW of power from PSPCL as well as own powerhouse of 4MW to run with Biomass i.e. Rice Husk as fuel, Effluent treatment plant , commensurate  with the present annual capacity of the plant at Handesra (Punjab) 75000 M.T.
